Best Indian

You've heard the Dhamaka (explosion in Hindi) this restaurant has caused. Deservedly launching Chef Chintan into chef stardom, Dhamaka serves ambitious and authentic Indian dishes.

With Indian Fusion restaurants cropping up like weeds in nyc, it's nice to see the slogan 'unapologetically indian' on the staff's shirts. The ingredients are loud and almost seem to be included to challenge the american indian food enthusiast's tastebuds. Goat kidneys, mutton, baby shark, whole rabbit, goat belly.. go here and try something different.

The dishes are amazing, the music is Bollywood, and the flavors are unique. My only criticism is the space, while nice, is plastered awkwardly against Essex Market. Otherwise, this would be in the high nines.

Butter's Tips:

call a week ahead to reserve your whole rabbit, if that's your thing. If not, grow a pair.
